7/12/25 Filled by the Master
Since the beginning of the series we have covered the truth of God’s word regarding that we were a vision of God who will have the opportunity to operate for special purposes & common uses. The method this is developed in the word of God is that we are at the hands of the Potter who is developing us. In past weeks it was detailed that the Potter is the Lord who works us for the purpose to show off his work. Initially, we are showpieces but we have the potential to be so much more. The true case of being set aside is when the special dishes get used. We can actually be used by the Potter, for this special purpose.
In deductive reasoning Potters make vessels. In the ancient world these were creations served different purposes as some were for water, some were to drink or eat from, some were for planting, others were for storage. Each vessel had a special purpose of common use. There is one common use for each vessel. It gets filled. If it is going to get used, it is going to be filled.
Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
2:28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’
4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
9:17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Ephesians 5:18 “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” –
The special purposes reach a new level with the filling of Holy Spirit.
As formed clay we are formed to hold something, we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit to walk in alignment with God’s will. The filling of the Holy Spirit enables us to perform His works and bear fruit in our lives. When we allow the Spirit to flow through us, we become effective witnesses for Christ. The more we seek the Holy Spirit, the more we transform into the vessels God desires us to be, spreading love and hope in a dark world.
What is the Holy Spirit?
The gift of God Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Seal of Ownership Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
He is the helper John 15:26-27 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.
6 ways the Holy Spirit works in us:
John 16:8 Convicts us of sin When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
John 16:13 Guides us into all truth But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
John 14:26 Teaches us God’s ways But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Romans 8:14 Leads us in our daily life For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
2 Tim 1:7 Empowers us to witness For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
1 Tim 6:11 Transforms our life But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
When starting a life with purpose & reason it has to connect to the Potter who made you to be filled with Holy Spirit but only by the full submission to the Son of God. Somethings in life do not make sense, maybe not now but can much later. Obedience is a huge factor to fulfilling the purpose of the Potter who formed all of us. Have you sought him? Asked him to lead the way & show you?
Holy Spirit is an element of power of authority, because of Jesus. We all need a Savior. His purpose for us is to be filled by Him to do the works he intended us to do.
