I Am Forgiven in Christ
Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
Last weeks lesson covered the first half of the verse detailing the necessity of the blood & why. This was taught from the view point of the heavenly court which is proceeding against the children of God & the people of earth where the enemy accuses day & night. Redemption, was also covered and that it is a legal term 1 of many used in the holy word of God. For those of you not aware of this that is what was covered last week and how we have redemption in the heavenly courts not because of anything we have done, but through the grace and the mercy that comes only through the blood of the Lamb of God Jesus Christ.
This verse however does not stop there. The old commercial saying, “but wait there’s more,” Applies here. This is what we are going to dig into today as there are three segments to this verse and we will cover the final two. For those who took in last week you knew that the redemption a legal term as stated is a necessity to have what was preached 2 weeks ago the indwelling of Holy Spirit. If you want your life run correctly and when I say that I mean under God’s will, it must be led by the direction of the Holy Spirit.
This is again the necessity of the blood represented so in him we get redemption through his blood, Holy Spirit to guide us and direct us as we are accused day and night by the enemy of all creation. The more, is the charges brought against us in that heavenly court can be viewed as 100% on the money. Do you not sin, do you not have a single day since you’ve been aware that you’ve not sinned?
If you have a church that parades around perfect people with perfect lives you’re in the wrong church. That’s not the picture of the biblical church. We are all spiritually sick, misdirected, and given from within ourselves two things that are an affront to God. Now the church is a bunch of people that should be hungry for the great physician to heal us of ourselves, the effects of the world, and the push from an enemy who controls it all. Now some of you were tripping, because I just said the enemy controls it all. Does not the Bible say that this world belongs to the devil? For those of you unaware that’s biblical, 1 John 5:19.
Sin is our issue, and the solution can only be found in the blood of the savior how the world who is the Christ because we have redemption by his blood and the courts of heaven.
If we did not have that, the greatest gift you would ever be given, we would all be cast into outer darkness with weeping and gnashing of teeth where the worm never dies and the fire of our sin nature would never be extinguished well out of the presence of Jehovah God. Our savior, our creator, our provider our Redeemer.
Forgiven -you did not get off in the heavenly courts because of any rituals you took apart in. You can take the sacraments every day, you could get baptized every day, you could tithe every day, And you would still never be forgiven of the trespasses, the iniquity, the transgressions against our Lord. This is why the blood is absolutely necessary. It is your covering each and every day and what makes you part of the family of God as a child of God.
The final portion of the verse says in accordance with the riches of God. This is an indicator of the redemption with the blood. And sadly some of us see this first and immediately focus on wealth, which is a travesty. First of all stop equating the deity with earthly value. He far transcends that he owns everything. It all was created for him and by him and through him, in addition to this it is all sustained by him. In a matter of physics the universe is designed to collapse on itself and yet somehow it does not it is sustained and upheld by the righteous right hand of God who gave his blood in which we are redeemed by because it’s all about him it’s not about wealth, no it’s about something far greater it’s about love. The redemption through the blood rant in accordance with the riches of the character of God.
When you examine that the word of God states there are things worth more than gold or silver, your redemption. Should undeniably be accepted within your understanding as one of those things Without the giving of the blood we would be lost into an abyss our fire, and the consistent suffering of being removed from the presence of the one who loved us enough to send his son. It is the riches of God displayed in his character who is and operates in love.
While there are additional things biblically mentioned that are worth more than silver and gold, we’re not going to stray from our context. If you’ve ever doubted if God loves you consider the giving of the Lamb of God his son, to be butchered and died and resurrected for you despite how miserable we all are how unworthy we all are, how fallen we are and understand that that it was done out of love.
God is not your enemy. He is The one who rescues you. His son is your savior, the one who saves you. His spirit inside of you there’s not a sign of mental illness, he is the evidence of the redemption helping you through life against the charges given in the heavenly courts to guide you and to God’s will.
