10/17/26 Mighty IAM

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Paul moves to conclude the book of Ephesians & denotes a few notes that we are going to cover this week & next week, of what is available to us who are in the Lord. We taught on this verse back in wk. 13, & denoted that there are different forms of strength & concluded that there is strength in the Lord. The question needs to be asked, because it was 3 wks ago, have you been operating in that strength?

Strength, we represented in the teaching has many different forms in the bodies we have been given to operate through. Strength is tied to our minds as much as it is our bodies however & everything involved with the body has a limited amount of fuel, stamina, endurance because we are designed bodily which is finite, & meant not to run forever. The second half of the verse is what we detail this wk. which says & in his mighty power.

If we are commanded to be strong in the Lord it must accompany in the Lord’s mighty power. The word power gets thrown around nearly as much as love & used improperly in the English language. Truthfully, this word is not in the second portion of the statement. From the GR it is “Be empowered in the Lord & in the strength of the might of him.“

So the preface is to be empowered in the Lord. This means that there is something to this strength taught upon previously. This means that the strength that we are to have in the Lord needs the component of his empowerment. If this is the case we need to examine just what is this word because as we have learned, sometimes the translation is a little wonky.

The GR word is endunamoó en “in,” which intensifies 1412 /dynamóō, “sharing power-ability”) – properly, to impart ability (make able); empowered.

I hope your eyebrows just raised.

The strength we taught about is given its means by the empowerment that emanates from the Lord himself. There is something here that I am teaching this week that should give you hope & faith to do just what we have taught. This is what you get when you are in Christ, you are called to operate in the strength of the Lord, but the power source behind that and I truly mean power source is likened to dynamite. It emanates from the Lord imparted unto you to operate in your day-to-day, for his purpose as you submit to the Holy Spirit and have the helper and guide that is the spirit of Christ inside of us guide us and negotiate our path in the day-to-day. This word the reference to earlier Dynamo it’s tied to the Greek word Dunamis  power to achieve by applying the Lord’s inherent abilities.

This means when you operate in the strength of the Lord your fuel source is no longer finite. You are no longer operating by human standards. You are fueled to do the will of God by the power of God. He will bestow & impart upon you the means to conduct his will. This again makes what was taught at the beginning about the importance of the surrender to Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

When you surrender your life to Holy Spirit & seek the Lord to show you his ways, to teach you his paths your day does not belong to you., your steps do not belong to you, your thoughts do not belong to you. Your words do not belong to you. They do when you take control back. When you go against what Holy Spirit says to do or hang out with who you want to that the Spirit says no to, or say things that do not glorify the Lord & his place in your life, you have taken control back.

Does this mean that when you are submitting to the will of Holy Spirit that nothing will happen to you? That life will be filet minion & milk shakes? No, look at Paul, look at his life & that guy is the example of what submission to the Spirit is. He surrendered, he encountered, he strove to carry out the will of the Lord & brought the power of the Lord with him. This power that moved him was used to move others, he brought answers, prophecy, healing, all from the power that was bestowed upon him.

Hell came down on him. He listed 22 things that occurred while following the will of the Spirit including being flogged, imprisoned, shipwrecked, having no food, & betrayed by those he trusted, but he did not relent. He did not let it stop him. He did not give up or lose faith that Jesus is the risen Son of God.

Now look at your life. What are you against. Are you against it because you are surrendering to the will of the Spirit?

You are seeking power that is not your won from a source that is infinite that will see you through to the smallest aspect of his will. Are you willing? Because if you are remember surrender means everything, that is why we are to pray not my will but yours be done.
