Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

Found in Christ. This means just that, found. The original language bares this which means as it apples to us & means that we were lost. Some of us are curious of this phrasing, others are not so much. Many of us are indeed lost, lost in who we are, who we are meant to be & what we are meant to do. Everyday we practice the corporate ritual of logins, laboring, & being crunched for time, rest, $, & reasoning. We get so caught up being driven by the rules of society & culture that we may have forgotten & not even learned who we are, what we are to do & who we are to be.

Examine your life today, distance yourself from your employment, your finances, your health, have you wondered if there is more to life than what you are and have experienced? Now consider your fate, statistically 1 out of 1 dies, it is even a biblical mandate. How will you go, are you ready? Do you have the legal structures in place for what you have? Now when you consider all of this, let’s go back to the original questions. Are you lost? Has the purpose & reasoning for your very existence been lost? We cannot stop what is coming, the end of the line.

This means that you will face a conclusion that let us be honest here, many of us do not ever see coming. Your body, whether you have taken care of it or not will fade. Your finances no matter their level cannot save you. Your network will not have solutions, your influence will be what outlasts you but on that fateful day, expected or not, your fate has already been determined by your choice in a single, precise decision.

Where will you spend eternity? Some will foo-foo this question not believing the last day is near, but it must be dealt with. Others will discount the importance of this, but let me remind you that eternity is much longer than the approximate 70 years you will have here. As we have documented in this series to stand before our Creator you must be holy, & righteous, & unto ourselves no human being is just that. We have had any chance of that by engaging willingly or unwillingly in affronts to the Lord, and there is no undoing it on our own.

This is why being in Christ is so important, as according to this verse the problem is solved because in Christ you get righteousness. Righteousness is the right standing before the Lord. This my beloved is a covering, consider having your faults, your rebellion shrouded, no longer used against you, the evidence has been eliminated & there is no case against you. How is this possible?

Through faith. Righteousness is attributed through faith. Not in yourself, not in the government, not in your network, but in Jesus the Christ. When you have faith that he is the Son of God, that he is the Savior of the world, that he is the one who fulfilled every law, every requirement & defeated every accusation that can be made against you has been taken care of.

You freely admit, I am messed up, I am tainted I am unable to acquire unto myself the means to stand before the flawless, sinless, righteous God because of what he offered for you to do so.

Righteousness as a gift because you have faith that Jesus is who he says he is and did what he did out of love because he desires no one to be lost but everyone to come to repentance. Without it, you cannot stand, you will be separated from his goodness for eternity.
