6/6/26 Daniel 7: The Fate of the Ten Horns
Daniel 7:8 “While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
Daniel considers the 10 horns which is the pattern for the club of Rome from 1972 dividing the world into 10 on autonomous zones. From within these zones there is another one a smaller one that has arisen. This alone, small horn militarily or even economically takes up three of the horns. Rather than a country represented here however this is the only horn the Daniel describes with human attributes. He describes its ability to see and obviously a mouth that operates without political correctness. This fits the modern age in a culture where even politically figures are speaking with what is known as smack talk. We are long gone from the age of politicians being civilized in their discourses And exchanges or even how they speak about the populations and cultures around them.
This segment of the vision is also potentially where symbolism is being combined with being literal in its explanation. If this is not a human being however because he says it is similar to a human being will they boast full mouth what could this possibly be? The only other thing that speaks unto itself that is not human in a language that can be understood as in not an animal is artificial intelligence.
11 “Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. 12 (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority but were allowed to live for a period of time.)
Here is something to take note of the horn is speaking but the beast is thrown into the blazing fire. There is a separation here & it is interesting the lack of personification when it comes to the beast that last week we introduced as a consuming empire likened unto an animal.
The other beast notices had stripped of their authority which would seem confounding unless you put it under the proper context of who has authority over the world’s empires? Only the Lord our God does. He sets up rulers and kingdoms all building towards his own emerging and becoming the Kingdom.
13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Again Daniel still referencing a night vision where he sees one like the son of man. This term is used and more than one book in the Bible but it is used in both testaments. To Ezekiel is known as the son of man and he’s a prophet, obviously Jesus is referred to as the son of man and is the true essence of this explanation of the vision. Because nobody else is coming with the clouds of heaven, further no one else approaches the ancient of days which is a reference to father God or the Trinity as a whole. It is worthy of note compared to the beast that was stripped of authority that the son of man was given authority, glory and sovereign power. All on earth worship him every knee will bow every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over all the earth. His Kingdom listed here that does not pass away will never be destroyed fulfills the covenant to David. It also and some degree fulfills a portion of the covenant to Abraham. This is why covenant theology is important to our understanding for prophecy. Another
15 “I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me. 16 I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this. “So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things: 17 ‘The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth.
Sometimes you see something emerging and the world around you, it may make you flinch it may make you cringe it may even make you depressed. This is what Daniel has he has a heavy spirit because of what is coming upon the earth. We take a look at what’s happening right now all over the world and knowing what prophecy bears. We know that according to scripture we live in perilous times. We live in times where the hearts of many will grow cold. The word of God even declares that mankind will become lovers of money and will not seek to do good but to feed their flesh. These are just a few examples as to where we are and where we are headed and every culture in the United states and around the world and there’s no escape. Bible prophecy will always find its way true.
As the grandson of two World War 2 veterans, one of which who fought in the battle of the bulge and the Ardennes forest in France, as the nephew of three Vietnam Veterans.
As the cousin of those who fought in the Gulf War. As the pastor of many other veterans that combine all of these and as belonging to a family of first responders I know this-cataclysmic events tragedy and misfortune all while seeing the callousness of mankind increase I understand his place. And sometimes you wanna ask God help me understand these things and Daniel was granted the wisdom and the revelation of knowing the four kings will rise from the earth and conquer it. Dictatorships never end well. The people who are under the control of the dictator pay the price and live below their means because one individual has seized power and amassed layers of defense to preserve that position.
For those of you like me who look at this world and are saddened, that in this age with all this technology we face the problems that we do and we can point the fingers at those in charge and point the fingers at ourselves because we have failed to heed the warnings of God as given in the holy Bible we have failed to heed the directions of God on what true success in life is and sought worldly goods, we have taken a land of milk and honey and exchanged it for greed and money it’s OK to have a heavy spirit.
Where is the hope in this world? There is no hope in the world on the current course that we have. Who is trustworthy? What industry actually looks to benefit our fellow man and not their own savings and net worth? Who can bring us together and unify us after being at a pressure cooker and force fed lies to divide us? The Answer comes in the next verse.
18 But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’
Here’s your hope. There will be one man who rules over this elliptical planet and do so with justice. There is one man who will rule this planet that we can trust because he operates in righteousness. There is one man who is the same man who works all things together for good for those that are called according to his purpose and love him because this one man is also the owner of everything and all of creation. This one man, he unifies us because he says all are equal. there is no slave, there is no free there is no Jew there is no gentile, no male or female, because we are all one in him.
His name is Jesus Christ he is the most high, he is the son of God And his Kingdom which is also our Kingdom will never be taken from us. His promises never fail his purposes are always met he will never leave nor forsake you.
