6/27/26 Daniel 7 The Scene in Heaven
We have torn into Daniel 7 & seen the governmental change that is coming upon the earth. In this study we have brought forward the truth that this is a spiritual issue manifesting itself in the physical. Some of my audience still does not see that, others of you who have followed this, say hey Dr. Dan you have skipped verses and today’s teaching combines those two and demonstrates why this is a full on spiritual provoking & involvement.
Daniel 7:9-10 is where we begin.
9 “As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. 10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.
Let’s ask the question that nobody asks, who is on these thrones? Are these earthly thrones like political rulers, or actual dictators? No look at the setting. Again we see the exclusive label of Jehovah God by Daniel the Ancient of Days. God is not taking his seat on earth here. Daniel notes the appearance traits which are symbolic denoting the details individually with colors & locations of the respective anatomy, but then we get the throne consumed with fire which is used twice in the 2 verses for an emphasis being revealed that this is for an act of purification, but that is not all.
Let’s bring out what we asserted last week Deuteronomy 32:8-9 & Psalm 82 are the points of reference for you to research. It tells us there is a divine counsel that are lesser deities who have been given charge over specific countries. That is who is taking the thrones here. Much of this is probably new to most of you because it is not commonly taught.
The ancient of days denotes the eternality of a Lord. He was before all things, created all things & from him all things were brought into being & that also gives him the authority if in nothing else for the knowledge of, but we know that his throne is the highest throne, he has all authority & only he is meant & deserving to be worshipped. The 10K x 10K standing before him are doing just that. These are angelic beings (of which there are multiple classes & functions of) who are worshipping him as he takes the throne. Take note there are 2 functions here & consider that in our day to day.
This says the court was seated, which means this is a legal matter. The spiritual laws of God have been set in place & the Ancient of Days is the judge. That means in this setting we have the judge, we have the jury, we have the witnesses that are standing before God. Courtis in session & the books were opened. What books?
1st there are books in Heaven, these particular books are compiled in the tabernacle of testimony in the book of Revelation which is an account of lives recorded by a specific line of angelic entities. This is utilized for the purpose of ruling for or against the people of a nation.
Daniel is a little bothered by what he saw not completely clued in as to what was happening & asked what was going on. The 4 beasts are mentioned rising from the earth and is then told
18 But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’
This explanation is for a comparison to the 4 kingdoms seen. Only the last Kingdom will remain forever. A 3-fold repetition of this places heavy emphasis on the context of time. We can gather then this court is about a kingdom & which kingdom is going to rule. The 4th kingdom ruled by a little horn reigns for 3.5 yrs. & destroys everything in his path, has full control over the resources of the earth & the people who in mass are his property. What the picture here is that while this is going on, there is a court meeting in the heavenlies that has been called together to evaluate the circumstance of the earth & who it belongs to. V26 continues,
26 “‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
With this ruling the little horn & his kingdom will meet their end. The kingdom will crumble & he will meet his end all because the God of all creation ruled in favor of his people. What is the basis of this, first the work of his Son, second their repentance & third the covenant cut with Abraham. You may ask Abrham? V27 is where that comes into play.
27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
28 “This is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was deeply troubled by my thoughts, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.”
This is the final ruling kingdom. We can see the emergence of the 4th beast, we can hear the call for a ruler to step forward & solve the problems but what we know is the hearts of men do not change & the pure righteous holy Son of God is the only who can take the throne forever.
