9/27/25 The Hand VI The Reigning Hand
In the previous 5 wks. There has been a focus on the hand of the potter who is shaping the vessel, provides for the vessel, leads the vessel, & tries the vessel. We have dispelled a few common narratives that are coming from modern pulpits and recognized them as myths as they do not originate in scripture. The picture has been made clearer, that when we lace hands with the Hand of God, the Righteous Right Hand he takes care of us.
This does not guarantee as we have learned a life free from hassle, or stress, and pain. Today we are going to cover the two of the most controversial subjects & sadly most churches won’t even address them. Where is the Hand of God at the end of the line? When time runs out, is that hand still holding you? Is there scriptural evidence of his claim, Heb 13:5 ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’
We live in a constant state of struggle. The depravity we operate in is so normal we still think this is how God must want it. If your spouse was as unfaithful as we are as a people to the Lord you would have left. But the Lord in this age has shown us grace. That is the age we are in and sadly we pay more attention to social media that we do listening for the voice of God, through Holy Spirit. A voice we are to long for, a voice we are to listen for to guide, lead & counsel us & many of us have no idea what that voice sounds like.
We take wrong turns in life. Scripture proves He can use that to help strengthen us, increase our faith & show us the blessings he turns disaster into. We have also learned that even through human conflict among Christian leaders he can use that as long as they do not walk in unforgiveness. Because unforgiveness is a huge issue. Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
This means when time runs out for us forgiveness is essential to open the doorway into eternity. Because you cannot hold hands with the Hand that was pierced for our transgressions by holding hands with unforgiveness. Everything material it seems has become vanity. We measure how many people attend church services to somehow believe more people equals a success because the church or the pastor or the worship is over with the people. Yet success according to Acts 14 is built on faith. Faith that we are all messed up & God sent his Son who sent his Spirit to help us not be so messed up.
This series has shown us that your purpose can be higher than common use in the hands of the Potter. He chooses when to use you when you submit to his Hand. The same Hand we should be letting have control of the lives he has given us in the first place because he is the hand of the potter & we are the vessel. The thing we deal with is the hardship which seems to drag on, these trials, these tests as given by the Potter himself or brought on by the enemy & because we do not like pain, discomfort or inconvenience we tend to whine, complain & then pray for help & the one thing we don’t like to look at is the clock. Everyone has a clock & it is ticking. It needs to be acknowledged because without it we discount the importance of what the Potter is doing in the life of his vessel. But eventually the clock runs out. Sometimes it is sudden, sometimes it is a slow diminishing of health, sometimes it is in our sleep, but the end will come.
Some of us believe we will be raptured & the clock is not for us, it is Gods clock. Let’s examine that. Since the rapture is a picture of a Jewish wedding, happening at a Jewish feast, then you have to take the feasts in order. The next to be fulfilled is the Feast of Trumpets. It happens on Rosh Hashanah the celebration of the Jewish New Year. It happens ten days before the day of atonement. In Revelation 4:1 the hand calls to a vessel, the apostle John & he is raptured up into heaven. So the Hand of God gave a command and the vessel is lifted. Do you see how this works?
If he owns the vessel, and scripture tells us that it is in his hand, and he is not letting go by letting someone removing us.
John 10:28-30 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Can we let go of the hand, yes we can. A willful decision to leave the hand of the Potter but if we stay locked in he is not letting anyone take us from him. We can make the willful decision to leave his side. But the Potter has his hand wrapped in yours. Further his hand has something else, found in Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
In other words he has control. He can remove us anytime he wants because he owns the vessel & he owns the authority of death. Some are cringing at this because no one wants to talk about it or face it it seems, but he seem to not apply scripture to scripture out of our fear of leaving what we are familiar with, that being material life. Everyone wants to go to heaven but it seems no one wants to die to get there.
Paul takes us home, No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:31–39).
The reigning Hand of God is lifted high in victory in our lives! Just let him lead.
