9/13/25 The Hand IV The Hand That Provides for You

As we examine the impact of just what the Potter does for us, we have to understand the finiteness of this life. The premise is that we are joined with Yshua by the hand. This hand is the very Potter who created us. The hand that you are holding on to is pierced for our transgressions. Some of you may not have heard that word before, it is a legal term. This is important to understand the legality aspect as we get into today’s teaching. A transgression is a violation of the law, implies a rebellion or breach of trust. Transgression is often seen as a willful act of disobedience against God’s commandments. This hand is our subject in this portion of the series, continuing the look at the concept that we are clay at the hands of the Potter, symbolic for Messiah.

We have exposed the myth that the Christian life is a care free life, we have also exposed the myth that God does not change us as we lace our hands with his Righteous Right Hand, because sometimes short comings happen in our lives. So we have come to a portion of the teaching where our faith is going to be challenged because needs are scare or nonexistent. So we turn to see what the Word says about it.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

What is the depth of this? Just how far do our needs go according to the word of God?

In Genesis 45 God used a human being to provide the needs, it was Joseph for the Jewish people.

Do not be misconceived in believing that the Hand of God can & will only provide through miracles & angels. There seems to be a belief within the charismatic movement that this is the only way our Lord can move to provide. Does the Lord provide, yes he does, sometimes abundantly, sometimes in a manner we do not understand. One of his names is Jehovah Jireh derived from Genesis 22:14 as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, to the Lord in a test, which was covered last week. The Lord provided a ram in the thicket. The Lord provided. This provision was a physical & a spiritual need & it bolstered the faith of Isaac for the next generation. But when we quote Phil 4:19 we state ALL our needs tending to misrepresenting the breadth of the needs as well as the means that these needs can be met.

Some preachers will tell you that this pertains to only our physical needs, based on 1 Timothy 6:7-8 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

But I ask do we not have relational needs? Do we not have psychological needs? Or as demonstrated in this context of Genesis 45 a spiritual need? Of course we have spiritual needs because if we did not we would not have the Righteous Right Hand of God who we lace hands with & follow through every day? We are spiritual creatures made in the image of God, housed in material matter, & our needs supersede the physical & effect the core of who we are which as we covered at the beginning of the series a vision of God who formed our souls 1st! Your soul is your mind, will & heart as in emotions & tied to your spiritual selves. So as we address this oft used verse we must not sell it short in its significance & breadth.

When we use this verse to encourage someone or recite it to ourselves I want you to know what you are doing, you are taking a written promise that represents the written documentation of the covenant & reciting it. That brings authority to the situation because God’s word is loving & active. It can provoke change. When you pray it, you take on a level of authority because it is the written contract representing the perimeters of the law of the covenant cut by the Son of God, the Right Hand of God to us as ordered by the Father.

When we pray this scripture, but law of the covenant your advocate, Messiah himself will recognize this plead to the judge, God himself & reveal the evidence upon his body, in his Presence the evidence to prove this. Your greatest need was your relational need which is spiritual

Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him (Psalm 98:1).

Only the right hand can provide your greatest need. It does not feed your emotion, does not feed your ego, does not feed your bank account, does not feed your network or your influence, it feeds your soul. Salvation In this particular verse it puts the emphasis of the work for salvation on the Right Hand, as Savior. The word we read here as salvation is the HEB word Yasha’ meaning to be free, to be safe, causatively to free or succor avenging, defend, deliver, help, preserve, rescue, bring salvation, get victory. The provocation here is to change our tune because if you have your hand tied to the Right Hand of God you have something to sing about, & this is not the blues here. Sometimes we get too overcome by our situations overcome by fear that overcomes our faith. That is why there are 365 fear nots in the Bible. A few of which give you the reason to fear not.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

Strengthen, that is more than just physical, that is restoration. It covers an array of areas because we can be strong physically but weak in many other areas. The Hand is your strength, the Hand is your provider, but we must keep in mind it is for your spiritual potion first. He as we learned last week is in a process of doing something we do not understand he is refining us by proving that no matter what we face, no matter what the short coming is. Your spiritual needs are met through Yshua.

This particular verse gives you the image that your resources are running thin or even evaporated & in time he will provide.
